Silkscreen print by DeeDee (2014)
Edition of 6
19 x 24 inches
2 colour print, hand-pulled by DeeDee.
Dee Dee is a New York City based street artist using collage, paint and silkscreen techniques to bring surreal and cinematic daydreams (or nightmares) to life. It is in that world - between sleep and the dream, between the surface and subconscious - where the viewer is invited to enter.
Bringing the actual streets of New York into the pieces, Dee Dee uses a punk rock/gothic aesthetic centered around layers. What we see and what we don't, what is hidden and what is revealed. The masks we wear and the identity we choose to be or reveal.
Faithful cat and companion, Violence, has also been known to contribute by whispering ideas into Dee Dee's ears during sleep.
